Marina the Mermaid

The mystical mermaid is one of the oldest creatures in folklore. The origins of these mythical wonders may go back as far as Ancient Greece and their depiction of Sirens, enchanting women of the sea that could lure sailors in with their beautiful songs. In today’s world, the most famous mermaid by far is Ariel from The Little Mermaid. We know her as a beloved Disney Princess, but her story was actually written way back in 1836 by Hans Christian Andersen. Though Mermaids are supposedly just a myth, their rare sightings have often been boasted about by sailors over the centuries. It could be that they had a bit too much rum that day, or could it be something more?
