Our Water World

Our world sure is big, but it’s easy to forget that our vast oceans actually cover more than 70 per cent of the Earth’s surface. The majority of living organisms on our planet reside in these oceans, but would it surprise you to find out that we haven’t even scratched the surface on identifying all of them? In fact, despite all of our technology, humans have only explored a fraction of the oceans – less than 5 percent in total – and new organisms are identified every single day.
If we were to take all of the water out of the oceans, mountain chains would be uncovered that stretch longer than any that exist on our current land masses. We would even uncover rivers and lakes – formed by dense liquids that flow underwater just like our own rivers do. One thing is for certain, there is so much more to be seen under the water than we can ever imagine. It’s a world of its own down there!
